Abstract Cloud computing has revolutionized the way organizations store, process, and manage data by providing scalable, on-demand, and cost-effective computing resources. The rapid adoption of cloud-based services across industries such as healthcare, finance, education, manufacturing, e-commerce, and government has generated unprecedented volumes of digital data. While cloud computing offers significant operational benefits, concerns regarding data security, privacy, integrity, transparency, access control, and trust continue to present major challenges. Centralized cloud architectures often rely on third-party service providers, creating potential vulnerabilities related to unauthorized access, cyberattacks, single points of failure, and data manipulation.
Blockchain technology has emerged as a transformative solution for addressing these concerns by introducing decentralized, immutable, transparent, and tamper-resistant mechanisms for data management. The integration of blockchain with cloud computing enables secure and scalable data storage, access management, auditability, and trustless collaboration among distributed stakeholders. Blockchain-based frameworks enhance data integrity, improve security, support compliance requirements, and facilitate decentralized governance while maintaining cloud scalability and operational efficiency.
This study investigates Blockchain-Based Secure and Scalable Data Management Frameworks for Cloud Computing Applications. The research examines blockchain architectures, security mechanisms, consensus protocols, smart contract integration, scalability solutions, practical applications, implementation challenges, and future research directions. A descriptive and analytical research methodology supported by questionnaire surveys, case study evaluation, comparative analysis, and secondary literature review has been adopted. Findings indicate that blockchain-cloud integration significantly improves data security, transparency, reliability, and trust in cloud environments. However, challenges related to scalability, interoperability, computational overhead, energy consumption, and regulatory compliance continue to influence implementation effectiveness. The study concludes that blockchain-enabled cloud frameworks represent a promising foundation for next-generation secure and intelligent cloud ecosystems.
